Hey y'all!
My last month in Louisiana just started. I'm so excited to go back home, but also sad to leave all these amazing people behind.

A week ago I went to this thing called "Experience Week". It was basically 3 days of experiencing Masters Commission. Masters Commission is kind of a discipleship school ish..
So we got to experience their life there.
We lived in the student apartments with a first year student as our leader.
Every morning we had an hour of prayer and then a session. So someone always preached / thought us something. We also did ministry. Some people gave food to homeless people. Some spent time with kids, reading story's, playing, praying and stuff. Some helped in pregnancy centers (or what ever you might want to call them). And there was a lot of other things to do.
Well I was a part of the "Exchange team". So basically we did youth ministry. And I went out of my comfort zone and had to do a part of the sermon. It was pretty cool and fun.

We also played volleyball and just chilled and did crazy stuff. What I love the most about XMC is that everybody's so weird and crazy and you can be your self without anyone judging you. They have the most amazing people there. I'm seriously considering to go there after I graduate High School in Finland. I just hope my parents let me go. I want to go there and bring a little peace of what they have, to Finland.
They are so welcoming and good hearted.  I'm going to miss them so much, but I'll be back!

This is my room mates! Double 0 4 swag! lol

My name tag!

At one of the sessions! Best worship band ever on stage! :)

So yea. Keep Calm & Love Jesus. XMC rocks!

NYC & Boston - Best week of my life

Hey y'all! Yo! Hello guys!

So, last week I spent in NYC and Boston, on a trip for exchange students.
To keep my brain in control I'm telling only the main things about the week, since we did a lot and were busy!

Day 1
I woke up at 3 in the morning for my flight and I was excited but nervous. I hate flying by my self.
I was lucky to have 2 Thai girls with me though, whom I met on the airport in Houston.
When we came to New York, we met more exchange students and I was like " OMG THIS IS SO COOL, WIIII :D"  We got to our hotel (in New Jersey) and the leaders showed us where the mall was. And you can probably guess what I did at the mall...and we ate "cajun" and chinese food.
Later when we got back to the hotel, I met a Finnish girl and I was so excited! I love her! :D
Then we ate and introduced ourselves and went back to the mall and then to bed.

Day 2
We woke up at like 7ish am and took the bus to NYC!
We took a boat thing to see the statue of liberty and then went to see the bull. That day we also saw the place where the twin towers used to be and the church by it. We saw wall street and the museum where the movie "night at the museum" was filmed. Then we went to China Town and Little Italy and got Chinese food. It was pretty good! Then some people got lost so we didn't have time to go to central park! Bohoo!
But it's okay, we saw it another day! :D Then we went to eat and then back to the hotel.

Day 3
Okay! This was one of my favorite days, when it comes to tourist things!
We went to the Empire State Building! Buujaaa! It was amazing! The views were so unreal! I could have stayed there forever. Anyway, so after that we walked to Madison Square Garden and then to Starbucks! By the way.. did you know they have 177 Starbuckse's only in Manhattan! Crazy! So after that we walked in to the worlds biggest store, MACY'S! It was enormous, but expensive! Then we saw the train station, whatever it's called again..(sorry my name memory is bad).
Then we went to a little mall kind of thing to eat lunch, shop and have fun. After that we went to Times Square! It was beautiful and so amazing! It was so much better than I could have ever imagined! After that we went back to the hotel.

Day 4
This was our last day in NYC! So sad! We went to this candy shop that basically had everything you could imagine, but as usual, it was expensive.Oh well! Later on we went to 5th avenue! A bunch of expensive brands and fancy stuff. We just walked in there and felt lost because we weren't so fancy dressed! The cool thing about 5th avenue though, was that we went to the Trump Tower and saw Donald Trump. We just walked down the stairs and bebeeem! There he was! I guess we're just lucky! Then we felt like eating something so we got some fruits. Then we went to Times Square again to shop and take some more pictures. After that we saw a play on Broadway! The Phantom of the opera! Just one of my favorite musicals ever! No big deal! I wasn't at all excited! i was only crying  a little.
Dude I LOVED it! It was beautiful! After that...byebye NYC! I love the city and I'm moving there one day!

Day 5
This was the day we rode the bus to Boston. It was sad to leave NY, but at least I had my new friends with me! We watched Pitch Perfect and after that all we sang was "sumsumsumsumsumsum...SINCE YOU"VE BEEN GOOOONE!!!!" Then we ate at a food court and shopped. They even had a One Direction store...
So we got to the hotel and I then went bowling and playing games and we ate. Then we got back to the hotel.

Day 6
The last whole day of the trip!
We saw Harward and shopped! We went to this store with international stuff and I found Finnish chocolate! Then we walked the freedom trail.
Later we went to the place where the Boston bombing took place and we made a card for one of the victims who was an exchange student. So we saw the memorial for it. It was so sad and it made me so angry!
That day we also saw the place with the Boston tea party and the narrowest hose in the world...(random fact).  Later we went to the Boston Hard Rock Cafe! They had the best music and best waitresses ever!
Loved it! :D
Then we went back to the hotel and we went play games again :D

Day 7
I had to wake up so early again and it was hard! but the hardest part was to leave my friends.
I made like 50 ish new friends in a week! And I love them to death! I miss them so much you have no idea!
Then i flew home and everything was so weird!

So yeah, that was the best week of my life! the people I met there,  we all have something special. Our friendship is so weird but awesome! I love them all like family and it's just mind blowing! I miss y'all! <3
I don't care I love it ;p

Spring is here!

Hey!

As usual, a lot of things have been going on here.Easter passed by and soon it's time for prom.
So on this "spring break" as they call it here, Carrie and me went to the movies to see "Safe Haven". One of my favorite movies at this point. And the last weekend of spring break, I spent whith the Bergerons (my aunt family). We had a great time having mud war and I got hit in the eye so I got "mad" which wasn't fun for the guys. Later on we rode 4wheelers. The next day we went fishing on a lake that origins from the Mississippi river. It was pretty awesome and I caught the only fish. A catfish. Later we went to church and since I was there the first time, I got colorful, caramel popcorn. Amazing isn't it! The next morning the whole family (including all the sisters and a few more people's families) gathered at grandpa's house. We ate crawfish and made a harlem shake video. And me and Tyler made some "Runebergin torttuja".  So that was my spring breaks highlights (I know I forgot something though).

The very next weekend Lillie,Canaan, Canaan's friend, her daughter and me went shopping for my prom dress. It's light purple and pretty. After that we went to the movies to see Jurassic Park in 3D! I love that movie! The older movies are sometimes just so much better than the new ones. It made me feel so old!
The next day Carrie, Lillie and me watched Les Miserables. They didn't like it too much but I did.
And finally this weekend I went to a woman's conference / retreat. It was awesome! We got some pretty good answer's for some questions. You know how people wonder why God allows war, slavery, hunger and things like that in the world. Well, God could take it from the world just like that if he wanted to.
The thing is that he wants to use us to do it instead. He knows what we are capable of and if we do it with God, then it's possible. So basically he does it, but he does it through us.
I also got a facial and heels for prom. And now I think I have a cold. Great!
Only 6 weeks of school left! Awesome feeling!
Take care people! :)

Birthdays birthdays!

Hey!
Lately there's been many birthdays. People are growing up and people are moving out from their parents. Some people think they have to and some people want to.
I see pregnant girls who are younger than me and people getting engaged.
I hear people crying about being single and others complaining about how they broke up with their boy/girlfriend. People want to be 18 so they can drink legally and be "free".
People change, people learn things the hard way and people don't think.

That bothers me. We should be thankful for what we have and live our young years without all those concerns that should come later in life. It's okay to be single at the age of 20 and even 30. Don't rush!
I'm not saying that we should sit there and wait for mister/missis perfect but I do think that we shouldn't date everybody, anybody and just someone.
Before we date someone, be good friends with that person. Getting engaged after a few months after meeting someone is not going to work.
Don't get me wrong. I think it's wonderful when people find eachother  when they are teenagers but please don't go too far in that age.

I just had to get that out of my system!

Now about the birthdays!

I was on Cami's birthday party last week. We ate at IHOP and she left her birthday card with money in it on the table by mistake. We called back but she never got her money back.
After IHOP e had a fire at her house. It was pretty cold but the fire felt good. We had fun! I spent the night there and in the morning we went to church.
It was my first time on a Catholic mass.
It was very interesting but not my thing at all. I disagreed with many things the preacher said.
I respect their believes but they should read their bible and see what it says about some things.
After church Cami and I went shopping. Then we ate craw fish! So good!!

Then on Tuesday it was my 18th birthday. I woke up a bit late and was on a bad mood.
That changed when I walked in to the bathroom and Canaan had wrote "happy birthday, love you" on the mirror and had left me a present and heart and lip shaped chocolates on the table. Made me happy! When I went to school I got a present and balloons. :)
After school I got a birthday cake (chocolate) and Carrie came over! Good, very good day!

Well, on the weekend I had my birthday party. Carrie, Jessica, Sariah, Kelsey,Sofia, Aleksandra, Sona and me + Canaan was there. We went to the mall and did some crazy stuff. Canaan and her friend Ashley made up some things we had to do.
We gave a massage to a masseur, dressed up like guys, ordered only water from a coffee shop, bought only one candy from a candy store, took pictures with some cute guys and so on..
When we were done, we ate and then went to the hotel where we spent the night.
So we tried to go to the pool but it was full of kids so we just ate a pie.
We decided to play "never ever have I.." in the lobby and some other games. Then we tried to go to the pool again but ended up in the "work out room". Man that was fun. Y'all should have seen us running at the running machines highest speed haha!
Well then we got tired of it just wanted the pool, but it was still full of people.
Well, guess what. Just ask to get it and you will!
We asked if we could have it for our selves since it was my birthday and this cool dude who worked there said he let us. But we had to wait.
We didn't mind! We went back to "work out" again. Then we got yogurt from yogurt land!! woopwoop!
Then things started to happen!
We got back to the hotel and just chilled, got some coffee and juice and yeah..just chilled..until..we decided to do the Harlem shake in the lobby! Yes we did! And the best part, the same dude who worked there wanted to do it with us and he went crazy. He took hes shirt of and yeah..said enough. I hope he won't get fired for all the things he did haha.
After a while we finally got the pool and stayed there until we got cold. It was awesome!
Then we went to our room and watched American pie and then passed out.

In the morning we slept pretty long so we almost missed the breakfast. When some of us had left we just went walking around outside and went inside another hotel. It was pretty fancy! After a while we went to a soccer game. Later I went to Wallmart with Jessica and Sariah.
So yeah. I had an awesome birthday.

Woopwoop!
Love y'all!

Smartie, smartie on the wall..

Hello!

It was a pretty day here today.
The sun was bright and the weekend in sight.
With my birthday in mind, I can only be kind.
And if that wouldn't be, then all you could see,
would be a tired little teen, that on some problems would lean.
If you ever study, I recomend a buddy.
It will go much faster and might end in laughter.

...so yeah..I've been studying like a crazy librarian this week. That is for real all I've done except church on Wednesday. My dad would be chocked.
Enough with boring school stuff!
Two weeks ago I was on an awesome K-Love concert! So Now I've seen Kutless, Jeremy Camp, Mercy Me and many other crazy and amazing artists! It was awesome until me and Carrie were found in the front near the stage and heard some ..hmm..bad news. Everybody was looking for us for hours ... I'll just end it there..

So! My birthday is coming up and it's going to be super! I'm finally going to be 18! And another cool thing is that me and Carrie are going to pretend that we are homeless for a night and we're sleeping in a box. Yes in a box! Don't worry! It's an event so we're not alone!

Studying can make people smart but also a bit funny. I feel very funny now but I also feel much smarter. So, people, study! BUT! Don't forget to sleep! And if it's cold, get warm! You don't want to get sick!
I don't sound like a parent. I'm just smart!
Love y'all!

Just amazing

Hey folks!
Sometimes there's periods in your life when you just feel like you're dancing on fluffy clouds and eating pink cupcakes and you can see rainbows and glitter everywhere. Other times there's periods in your life when you see only rain, darkness, mud...and just sad things, and you eat burned cupcakes that used to be pink.
Well right now I'm in that pink fluffy period of my life. Many amazing things have happened.

I made a pink/white blanket to my bff Carrie. It had a picture of Finland and Louisiana on it. It was awesome and got people crying. So I'm just glad I made her happy! It doesn't take much to make her smile. She's amazing so I wanted to put some effort in her gift.
Also on her birthday we ate sushi! It was so yummy! It was my first time eating sushi and I loved it!

Now here's the thing...it's Mardi Gras. I heard that Church Point is the second worst (wildest, craziest) place in the world during Mardi Gras. Well I live in Church Point. :)
I was on the Carencro and the Lafayette parade (the ones that kids can go to), but thank God I was on the Hunger Retreat Sunday-Thuesday!
I'm like a new person! I've never been like this before, ever! It's awesome! And I got so many new friends and I even met amazing dancers from Masters. And my mind is like blowing up right now because there's so many amazing people there and I didn't meet one person who would have been fake or negative in any way! To be honest, I've seen that in some churches in Finland. I'm not gonna lie. So I'm so, so happy to be a part of "the exchange"!
And so many awesome things are going to happen this year that I already know about!

Okay so I also ate boiled crawfish for the first time in my life today! It was amazing! I love it.

I don't know if I can handle all this right now. It's maybe too much awesomeness! But hey God is good!
I really don't know what to say. I just miss all my new friends already! They are all amazing and yes, my old friends I miss you too and I love you!

My extraordinary days

Hey people!

Louisiana floods very easily I notised. That's because it's flat. Flat like "Osterbotten-Pohjanmaa" in Finland. It flooded so mush that we kind of lived in a middle of a lake. Thank God our house didn't flood like some others. We missed school for two days which was awesome!

Even though I've been babysitting and cleaning like almost every day, I've still had some time to do fun stuff.
I got to go to a real rodeo with bulls, horses and some real cowboys! It was so much more fun than I thought. They even had this "clown" person who was seriously funny! He wasn't a clown but a clown you know..
I just have to point out again that the food here is the best!

I don't really know how I feel about this next thing, but I've been around a lot of kids lately and so thay are kind of making me a kid or at least more childish. It's weird and I don't know how to handle it.

Anyhow..now I feel very good about myself because I was to the gym this morning. Some of ya'll have no idea how hard it is to find the time and a way to get there and all that.
There's no local transport here, so no buses or anything. And yes I could ride a bike or walk/run if they'de let me. But it's dangerous here they say and I can't go alone. It's not like I can tell them "bye I'm going running..I'll be back in an hour or two.."  and..someone needs to babysit all the kids.

There's been a lot of birthdays now. Canaan (my host mum) and Abigail (host sister) just had their birthdays. And soon it's Carries (host cousin), Taylors (host cousin), Benjamins (real brother) and then also my birthday! I'm so exsited! I'm turning 18!  The sad parst..I can't get my drivers lisens yet and I'm graduating BoGy (Borga Gymnasium) when I'm 20..haha! It's so sad it's funny!

So some upcoming things are all the birthdays and in April this girl is going to New York City and Boston! I can't wait! And I also cant wait to eat boiled craw fish and experience Mardi Gras! It's a crazy carneval kind of thing before easter, if I understood it right. People party like crazy before the time of fasting. I think the main idea of it is dumb..to eat like crazy, party (sometimes go a bit too far) and drink before you can't do it no more for a long time. How is that okay in Gods eyes? Oh well! Not everybody does it like that! Some people just watch the carneval things and have a good time. That's the way I've understood it.
Well I'm going to spend that bweekend at my church. I don't know exactly what's going to happen but I'll write about it after the weekend.

Today it's "Martin Luther King junior" day. So we didn't go to school today. And for some awesome reason we don't have schol tomorrow either.

By the way.. The (holy) Bible is an awesome book. I recomend it to anyone.

Enjoy life while it lasts. Don't waste a day. You can never have it back!
So don't worry, be happy!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hello everybody!
I had such a good Christmas. It was different but good.
I got to meet a huge part of the family. We celebrated it like three times. And if you want to know what I got for Christmas here's a list or if you couldn't care less, just scroll down lol.

THE LIST :
lots of makeup
lots of bath stuff and lotion
lots of warm socks
leopard slippers
4 cd's
2 pairs of earrings
2 photo frames
candy
a purse
shorts
a shirt
a water color painting thing
$10
a book thing with awesome texts in it
a jewelry box
my cousins old phone :D

Okay so on Christmas day it was raining..raining...and raining..and thundering and "lightninging". And we saw a swamp and deers!

After Christmas on the 27th I slept over at Charlotte and we watched "the odd life of Timothy Green". That movie was one of the sweetest I've ever seen. The sad thing about that day was that it was her last day in Louisiana. The next morning she left. I went to the airport with her and her host parents and our supervisor. Well the flight was late a few hours but suddenly she just took another flight and everything happened so fast and it was so sad. I already miss her!

Okay so new years eve!!!  That we spent at April's house (my host aunt)! Carrie, Tyler and I played hide and seek in the dark in the woods haha! So fun! And we ate good sea food! The rest of the night we just played games and made a video...about how bored we were. We didn't go to sleep until 7 in the morning and the next day (same day), we didn't do anything else than played on the phones and watched movies. Today we organized Aprils classroom (she's a teacher).

Anyways..last year was a good year. And I want to thank all my friends, my family and God for making it so awesome! I had an awesome birthday because Ida took me to a concert and we ate out and everything was perfect! I had an awesome trip with my dance mates (Vilma, Heidi, Sara, Rebecca) to Tampere! Not only the competition, dancing and the hanging out with them there but also the time we spent together practicing for those days. And the other jams, competitions and practices we went to together.
And the conference (EC) where I learned a lot, was amazing and also  MVV.
Last summer was one of my favorites. The camp at Jumijarvi was awesome! We made a song and we all got this bond that we never had before. My family including me went to Sweden. It had been years since I was there.
I also had the "byebye" party in my church for my friends. At that time I had no idea where I was going for my exchange year and no idea when I was leaving. But then one sunny Sunday morning I got a call and I had to leave in 3 days. I was excited, scared and mad at the same time. How could they give me only 3 days to prepare myself. I was so mad. The next day I went to Linnanmaki with my friends from the camp. It was an awesome day! Then in a few days I was already in Louisiana. I was so tired and nervous when I came here. I just wanted to sleep. And the rest I've done this year..you have possibly already read about.

So 2012 was an awesome year! And if I learned something last year it was that you should not give up, think more than once before you say something, be your self, you're not better than anybody but they're not better than you ether and that you should never judge someone because judging is God's job.

So Happy New Year everybody! I'm extreamly excited for this year! It's 2013 everybody!

Happy Christmas Merry Hollydays...!

Hello everybody!
It's a regular Sunday and we went to church as usual. It was a good service as usual. It was about not being alone on Christmas. About how we should have Jesus with us not only on Christmas but everyday. We are all sinners. And if we're dirty we can't go inside Gods house. We need to be cleaned up. There's no dirt in his house. I'm not sure where I'm going with this but I just want to say that you should invite Jesus to your Christmas. Btw..Emmanuel meand "God with us". Yeah.. Don't forget that!

So...Happy Christmas and Merry Hollydays!
This Christmas is messed up for me. The only stable thing this Christmas is Jesus.
There's no snow. It is 25 degrees Celsius outside.
One day there's 35 people celebrating Christmas and the next day I'm babysitting two kids.
We ate "enchaladas" instead of a huge pig (and all the other stuff we eat in Finland).
We didn't have any kind of Christmas thing at school. (only a weird concert).
No Santa Claus.
There's no Christmas decorations.
My real family is not with me.
We don't have a Christmas tree, aso..
BUT what we do have is:
Christmas stockings.
Christmas gifts.
Christmas movies on TV.
A fireplace (it's fake but I love it).
Christmas music on the radio.
Jesus.

This Christmas is not what I expected of an American Christmas at all. I thought it would be a huge thing but it's much bigger in Finland. I'm not complaining. I'm just surprised. And it's just a different Christmas than I'm used to. And it's a new experience. I think Christmas might be a bit of a hard time for all exchange students. Because we don't have our real families with us and this is the time family comes together.
This is maybe the hardest culture shock I've had so far because Christmas is important to me. But I'm going to take this as it is and taking all I can out of it.

Merry Christmas everybody! I love you and miss you kaikki Suomalaiset hullut! :)

I'm dreaming of a white CHRISTmas

Hello world!
I have a few amazing weeks behind me and I don't really know where to start.
Okay so thanksgiving and Arkansas is over. I went back to school but I'm getting tired of it. I would rather stay home, sleep in and when I'd wake up I'd turn Christmas music on and do something "christmasy".

So I've done "christmasy" things anyway. Me and my host siblings made some christmas stockings with our names on, that we hung up. And sometimes "santa" (my host mum) puts something in the stockings, or like my sister..she put her shoe in mine haha!
We also went to a christmas play at our church. It was amazing! They showed  parts from classic christmas movies and songs. Like from "home alone"  and that weird green hairy dude who wants to "steal the christmas". Even my hiphop teacher was break dancing in it and I was like YEY! This is how church is supposed to be! Fun but teaching!
There's one thing I do not understand...you're not supposed to say "merry christmas" anymore, You can only say "happy hollydays" That's like taking out Christ from christmas. Aren't we celebrating christmas because of Christ's birth? Oh well..nobody really follows that rule and they can't put you to jail if you say it so it's not that big of a deal. But it's still dumb.

I was to New Orleans with Charlotte on a Friday! Yey! New Orleans instead of school! No I'm not dumb because of that. I've just learned all I learn here before. So the night before we I played "guitar hero" for the first time and I'm already good at it! It's adicting.
So in New Orleans we walked around a lot of places. We shopped at the French Quarter and I got the coolest neckless that says "WHO DAT" haha! funny..! We also ate at Margarita Ville. I ate tasted fried-shrimp, -crawfich and -aligator! Tasty! We walked the whole Burbon street.. full of gangs , shops, music (also live), and things I wish I wouldn't have seen...
Okay it was really cool and I'm totally getting back there some day!
In NO there was a lot of street artists like painters, musicians, those silver and gold "statue" guys (even a transformer guy! he literally "became" a car and drove around) and  a guy who does "magic stuff. That "magic guy was amazing! Never seen a guy that good at the tricks before and he was funny too!
The next day some of the exchange girls had a cupcake party. We made the cutest cupcakes! And we had a little "throwing icing in your face" fight haha!

Then I had a boring school week again until it was FRIDAY!
Okay so let me tell you something important. If you want to have fun at school in Beau Chene High, you need to work for it.
I had sold cookie dough (which tasted like sand). And I sold 8 boxes, so on this Friday, I got to wear jeans! And that's not all! I got to get out of class, get out on the stadium (or whatever it's called) and get inside one of those huge hamster balls!! I'd always wanted to try one and now got to do it! It was so fun and I want to do it again!! ...then I had to get back to class...
After school though, I slept over at Karin and Sofia ( from Slovakia and Sweden). We made these things called "snowman's poop"...in other words oreoballas with white chocolate on. Easy and yummy!
The next day we went to a christmas party for all the exchange students. Our oreo balls was successful! My friend Lars from Germany said they were nasty but he ate the last 5...sorry Lars for putting it here haha!
We had a competition in groups. We had to dress up one person in our group to santa with only red, green, gold and white paper and tape.
Later all the exchange students had to one by one go up and tell about our good and bad experiances we've had till now. The Asian people were so funny! I couldn't stop laughing! I just love them haha!

After the party, Charlotte (Germany),Sofia (Sweden), Karin, Sonja (Slovakia) and me went shopping to the mall! I got a hat, earrings and a necklace...and some christmas presents :D
Then we went to this place called "Acadia Village". It's a village with christmas light everywhere and with christmas music and everything "christmasy". Then we slept over at Sonja and watched videos on youtube of this black dude who answers stupid questions that people asks him. Couldn't stop laughing!
Then we started to watch some movie but we all fell asleep...interesting ...yes...
So! Today it's Sunday! The last day of the week! I finally got to sleep! Charlotte and me had planed to go horse riding but it started to rain like..a shower or like..a waterfall. And there were lightnings and thunders... not a good day to go riding. So we played GUITAR HERO instead! No one can win me! I;m the best! I rule the game! ....I lie..I just changed from easy to medium...and I won like once because Charlotte's guitar had something wrong I guess. But one day I;m going to rule the game!
Oh! I almost forgot! I skyped with my friend Joanna today and she was so happy to see my face. It made me happy :) Love ya'll! Miss ya'll! CHRISTmas is almost here so be prepared! Don't leave Jesus outside, knocking on your door in the cold, dark night. Open the door and have a blessed Christmas! Would you leave him outside on hid birthday? I wouldn't.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! :) <3

Before, Thanks giving, after!

Hey everybody! Things are going good here as always.
So last weekend I was on a birthday party for an 8 year old boy! There were kids everywhere and it was crazy and we had a bonfire. I finally got to meet my "host cousin"s again! I love them all! And one of the German exchange students were also there.
We played soccer with the kids and then slept in a huge tent. So it was Carrie, 9 boys in the age of 6-10 and me! Haha!
The next day we went camping to my host mums sisters woods..or property..anyways..there was 4 families I think and we had so much fun! We drove the four-wheelers in the middle of the night and walked in the woods. Then we had a bonfire and some of us talked about the bible and aliens..(don't even ask).
So yea, it was pretty awesome!
Okay so here's the thing. Because I'm an exchange student, I have to do 5h community service. First I was a bit upset but not anymore. On Wednesday and Thursday I didn't have to go to school because I did community service. And it was fun. I slept over at my Slovakian friend (also an exchange student) and we made a speach about how it is to be an exchange student and the whole process before it and the differences in the countries, stuff like that. Then we just watched "how I met your mother" on Karin's I-pad. The next morning we had our speaches in LSUE ( a college) and then we ate breakfast in Burger King and went "mini shopping"! On Thursday we did the same thing but afterwards we did this challenge where you had to look for things on the school area and take a picture of it. It was super fun! Then we ate "budain"!
The sad thing was that when I came home on both days, I did home work for hours! Not fun! At least we had church Wednesday! It was the last for this year. This time we got to talk instead of the pastor :)

Yesterday (Friday) I was babysitting Gams  and her friends kids. Awesome kids! I watched Eclipse also...then Carrie came and we played this game on the TV that doesn't have any "controls"! It was super fun! When the parents came home we went to "my house". It was 2 o'clock in the morning but then we started to plan a trip to Finland! So we went to bed at 4 am.
Today I had dancing in the morning and I finally had my tap shoes! Expensive stuff! (a bit mad...). I am not a good tap dancer compared to the other girls who has danced it for years...so I feel pretty lost there. But it's fun! I feel like I should go learn the basics with the kids sometimes though haha..

That's what been happening... now what's coming up?

Today I'm sleeping over at Karins house after a birthday party (6 year old boy I think). We're going skating with skates that has wheels you know! Tomorrow I'm going to church! It's thanksgiving week so I don't have school for a week now! I'm going to Arkansas with Carrie ! I'm so exited! And after thanks giving Charlotte and I are going to New Orleans! Buja!

Oh and before I forget! If you didn't know, Obama is the U.S president again for the next 4 years..or maybe more if he changes the law about that. Just saying that I have a completely different opinion about him now, than before I came here. Ask me if you want to know why.

And this girl is staying here for the whole June! So guys you have to wait for me a few weeks longer now. Oh well! I love it over here and I don't want to leave!  Miss ya'll Finnish people! And i miss "ruisleipa" haha!

awesome time's!

Stuff has happened since I wrote the last time...I can't even remember everything.
Last Friday I was at Beau Chenes last football game and I didn't really watch the game. First I was just really confused and then I found my friend from my Clothing class. So I just followed her and we sat down and listened to Jimmy Henrix , classical music like Copain and Debussy and random stuff that not many people understand but we do. As usual, BC lost the game! Yes we did.
On Saturday we had this thanksgiving thing for exchange students and I had so fun! The food was awesome! Yes I love food and it's not a secret! Everybody had to cook something from their home country but I didn't have enough time to finish my food so I didn't have anything to bring. I found a girl from Sweden And I was so happy! But then I heard that there's a Finnish girl somewhere here too so I have to find her!

Okay, let me just make one thing straight! I always tell people I'm from Finland but that I speak Swedish and Finnish. So almost everybody thinks I'm from Sweden!  So if you read this and you think I'm from Sweden, there is something wrong with your capability of understanding easy sentences. If I say I am from Finland, I am from Finland, even though I speak Swedish. It's not like I'm from France just because I can speak French! I finally said it and I don't want to hear anyone saying that I'm from Sweden anymore.
I am from Finland, I speak Swedish and Finnish as my two primary languages which makes me a "Finnswed".

..enough with that. Next weekend we're going camping and we're also going mud driving again! I could not be more exited! We're also going to see the newest Twilight movie haha! And I'm going to New Orleans with my German friend some weekend before Christmas! So many awesome things are going to happen soon and I am just having such a great time! :D

Today I talked to my family on the phone the first time here! It took us three months! I'm glad it did though because if I'd call them all the time like most of the other exchange students, I would be home sick. I'm a little though but not badly!
One thing I miss the most (other than people) is the dancing there. It's not the same here. I don't really have anyone here that could practice it with me so I have to do it by my self. And I miss my piano! It makes me crazy not having it! I haven't played piano in three months and nobody has one!
Another thing that I miss is walking! Like listening to music and just walk outside by my self for hours! It's impossible here. I miss my school and the freedom we have there. School here is almost like prison. Not really but compared to my school in Finland, yes, kind of.

So Halloween just passed by and I was in church that day. We had a bonfire and made these yummy things! You warm up/melt a marsmellow and put it between two honey cracker's and you also put a piece of Hersey's chocolate in it! So tasty!
One Friday we went ice-skating and it was really fun!
I told you I had done a lot of things and I can't remember everything! This is getting too long so I'll stop it here. I miss you guys and I hope you don't freeze to death in Finland. It's like summer down here! :D

Homecoming weekend

Hello my dear friends!
Yeah...my weekend was awesome! And I am tired.
On Friday I was shopping with Carrie and Gam and then we ate at a place called something with buffalo..and wings.. it was so good but so messy! Love it! I eat without a knife and a fork pretty often here and I would never have thought that would have happened.
So after that messy meal we went to the movies to see Pitch Perfect! I laughed so hard! I recomend it for everybody!
The next day I went dancing and I hate that I have hip hop only for 1 h in like 2 weeks! But I do it to the fullest when I have it yey! Anyways..so then unimportant stuff happened and then I suddenly was at Paytons house! We fixed us for the homecoming dance and then ate Mexican food! Yummy!  I was so exited for the dance at school but when I was there I was a little disapointed. I had fun but the music wasn't so good and I didn't like the way they danced. So I was a bit confused and like ummmm...okay... sorry guys, I'm not doing that but I hope you have fun! :D And so I danced my own way and walked around saying hi to people I knew. The funnest part of the day though was when I slept over at Payton and we were kind of tired. Things in the kitchen flew around and we couldn't stop dancing. We cooked food at 1 in the morning and when we finally tried to sleep my dear friend just couldn't shut up! Payton you're awesome! :D

On Sunday after we finally woke up and danced a bit more, we went to the mall. So I finally got a lot of clothes and jewelery! And then nothing super important happened!
Today I had my ballet class and we only stretched and did muscle things..so now I'm pretty stiff and I won't be able to walk tomorrow.

Okay enough for today. Love you guys and I really don't miss the coldness of Finland when I sit in the heat of Louisiana! Haha! But I still miss you so don't worry!

It's homecoming week guys!

Hello everybody!
You know how computers sometimes just "die"..,well this computer died for two weeks.
Anyways! This week my school (Beau Chene High School) had the homecoming week!
We dressed up differently every day. We had pyjama day, camo day, decade day, wacky tacky day and tomorrow's spirit day!  This week has been fun! This saturday we have our homecoming dance at school and I'm really exited!
Tomorrow me and my friends are going to the mall and to the movies. It's going to be awesome!!
I'm now teaching hip hop to younger classes with my dance teacher. It's fun and I learn new things even though it's really easy.

I just have to say this one thing about the church I go to. It's amazing! I love it! Every time I go there I learn something new and I get those "aha" experiances. My favorite song we sing there starts with the words "Take the world, but give me Jesus". I don't think I have to explane what it means. Ask me if you don't understand.

Last night I woke up in this loud thunder and in lightnings! It was crazy! I could feel the house shaking! And I see lightnings very often here! It's cool and I love it! :D And they also have a lot of dead animals on the roads so last night we drove over a dead dog! We freaked out! It was creepy!

I'll try to get some pictures for you soon! Miss ya'll so much!

Today at school on first period the electrisity went off for a fue hours. So we just sat there in the dark till it came back. Then we had 15-30 minutes lessons, yey!  Tomorrow I'm going to an event called "BEYOND THE POLE". It's a hiphop concert in CrossRoads Church and it's going to be awesome! They allso preach! I want everybody to check out an artist called Curvaine! Hi's really cool.

Hey! another week or two has past again and I've done so many things!
I signed up for a compotition with Carrie and we had to do a video and post it on facebook. First the video with most likes would have won but then they got judges so I hope we win. The winners get a limo ride with Curvaine and DJ Vow from the their school to the mall. There they get $250 to shop for! Then they take you to CrossRoads Church for their consert and you get in there on a red carpet! So I want to win!

My hiphop lessons started and I love it! I feel whole again! Ballet and tap dancing is my thing but I can deal with it now that I have hiphop too!
Yesterday I went to the movies and wached "The house at the end of the street" with Carrie and Canaan and her friend. I recomend it for those who like to be sceard! :D I loved it and I jumped up like all the time!

Anyways, last weekend I was at a birthday party and they had this water slide thingy. We had so much fun. Then we wached a scary movie and it sucked!
We have our homecoming 10-20-12 and yes I have someone to go there with.

I'm just saying that people here are the nicest ever! They can do allmost anything for you and give you stuff for free even though you don't even know them. It's wierd and awesome! I wish people in Finland would be as nice as here! I still love Finland but we need to chenge our attitudes. I don't mean everybody in there though, but some.
Okay, today Canaans cooking inchaladas and tostadas! I love it! It's mexican food and who ever you are you need to taste it!
I miss you guys in Finland! I you Ida! You allways know what to do and what to say when I have problems!
I miss you Joanna! You are so fun and crazy and you're my own freak! I miss you Rosanna! You're just so awesome and undescribable! I miss you Vilma, Heidi, Viivi, Sara, Rebecka, Caisa, and all my dance mates! I miss dancing with you. You're all crazy and I love that! I miss you Lelle, Agge, Sophie and Sofia! You're the reason I'm graduating school in Finland!  You're fo funny when you argue about stuff and get mad! I miss everybody! I miss my family! I miss my dance schools! I miss every freakin person in Finland! But I still LOVE it here and I don't want to go home yet! Haha!

Talk to you guys on facebook or something! I wnat to know what's going on there! :)))

Confused

Jee!
